SUMMER SHINE

This was Beijing’s time to shine… 2008, Summer Olympics… and I was there. It was an experience words can’t even begin to express- or more like if I start writing about it I don’t know if I could stop- there was so much going on, so many amazing experiences- Seeing the USA vs. China basketball game (YaoMing, La Braun James, Kobe Bryant- ya know), partying with Quincy Jones and Jared Leto, being part of Julia Mancuso’s entourage… The streets were filled with people from every corner of the world, and they were all here to celebrate. My streets were filled with capoeira daning, drum circles, and revelry till sunrise everynight. The energy was electric.

Future Fashionista?

Anything Olympic related was ‘HOT’ and a lot of peeps were sporting their favorite countries colors and flags- sometimes even in the form of fake tattoos on the face and anywhere else on the body. It was a glorious summer…

When I first saw professional beach Volleyball player Mauricio Morales… well, lets just say I got  inspired to body paint his country’s flag onto his chest… mmmmm…. oh, sorry, where was I…

Oh yea, … LuLiu- beautiful, gifted, so talented. A fashion designer with an edge, a little darkness- her skeleton bride line seriously wowed me.

The ‘ridiculously good lookin’ Rachel Ruth Baker who also wowed me with her fashion designs- AND her legs for days, gloriously green eyes, and perfect skin…. grrr ;)

My motivational Bikram yoga teacher, Huiping Mo, sretched it out for the cameras and the entire shoot was ab fab. Those were my Summer 2008 fashionistas!
