About me…MeiLi Autumn.  An island girl living in a chaotic city. You can usually find me riding around on my ‘Flying Pidgeon’ (my old Beijing bicycle) , dodging traffic and Tuktuks, and finding beauty in unexpected places.

I came here, to Beijing, 2 years ago, makeup kit in hand, with no real plan except for massive scale beautification- because I could see that Beijing just might need someone like me… A western trained makeup artist with an understanding of the Eastern aesthetic- someone who could cater to both the local women, and the expat community. From the moment I landed, Beijing became my biggest adversary (ie: pollution, weather, intense culture shock), and biggest opportunity (styling for MTV music videos, working with top fashion designers, and starting Beijing Fashionista- a column on fashionable people in our community). I still spend part of the year in Hawaii, but it is truly Beijing that has become my inspiration…
